After a very moody wintery sunset on the Mackinaw River for February, I decided to be a little more optimistic for March. Combine that with last fall’s trip to the Smoky Mountains and we get a wonderful sunrise over Newfound Gap looking into North Carolina. Now THAT – that is the way to start March! I was so enamoured of the sunrise that morning that I eventually made a couple of images that morning. This was the middle image – you’ll see the last image made on the trip as a calendar page later this year. Until then enjoy this mid-sunrise shot.
