Not like it hasn’t been a little obvious, but this blog is in the middle of a working vacation. I plan to return to a more active schedule the week of June 28.
In the meantime, you can always sign up for a workshop. Actually, our No Light/Low Light workshop on July 24 is full – but we still have a few openings in both the Lighting Workshop (on June 26) and the Wedding Workshop (on August 21).
You can enter a photo in the Scream Peoria Art Show, celebrating the upcoming fifth anniversary of the Peoria Flickr Group. You’ve got a little time to submit your image – the jury deadline is June 27. Anyone is eligible to submit an image – but it should somehow “scream” Peoria (or Central Illinois) – and you should be a (free to join) member of the Peoria Flickr group.
Catch the exhibition of photography by Barbara Hoffman at the Contemporary Art Center of Peoria at 305 SW Water Street. The exhibition runs through June 25th and is open 11 am to 5 pm daily. A donation is requested. For more information, call 674-6822. Barb does a lot of wonderful urban decay photography and always has an interesting take on the world.
Or catch the end of Peoria physician and photographer Dr. Elsburgh Clarke’s show chronicling the last five years of Peoria firefighters on the job at the Picture This gallery in Peoria Heights. Clarke, a doctor with years of emergency room experience, started with a simple ride along and it blossomed into a big project that encompassed over 10,000 images. The Journal Star has a nice write-up about the experience. The gallery at 4607 N. Prospect Road in the Heights is featuring the exhibit until June 15.
Now quit reading and go out and shoot.
