Rambling Around

Mackinaw River Valley Sunrise

Busy week this week but wanted to point out a few things that may be worth your time.

The First United Methodist Church in Peoria is opening their 26th annual Fine Arts Exhibit this weekend. This exhibit hosted about 65 invited artists last year, including numerous photographers (one of which was me). The show’s opening reception is this Sunday from 2pm to 4pm at FUMC on Perry Street in downtown Peoria.

Also – don’t forget George Lepp’s Peoria visit this weekend. He’s doing a special critique session for the Peoria Camera Club on Friday night at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 4911 N Knoxville Ave. in Peoria. Then the big seminar runs from 9am to 4pm on Saturday at ICC.

Also, this video has been going around the Internets lately:

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Made with over 35,000 stills, Sam O’Hare produced this short film with standard lenses and then created the tilt-shift look in post-production. There’s a short interview with Sam here that talks about how he did it.

  1. That Sandpit video is cool! After the George Lepp seminar, I was thinking that a time-lapse video would be a fun thing to play with (he showed some stuff he did with it). Now *this* comes along! I just haven’t figured out what subject/story/theme or whatever to do. One of these days, the lightbulb will go off!
