Protecting your Images

Lee Newton Jr.There I was – all prepared to write a nice article for you all today when I had this feeling of deja vu. Sure enough, when I did a quick search on the CIPB for the topic I was geared up to write about – I found we’d already written about it about 11 months ago. Ahhh aging is not for the feint of heart. But you know what – it was a good piece of work on a good topic and was written by Bill Shaner. So if you want the ENTIRE skinny on digital dodging and burning – go read his article. And thanks Bill – you gave me back like 15 minutes in my day… okay maybe 20.

Since I’m always one who likes to save a good 15 minutes, I thought I’d pass on this comprehensive guide to Protecting your Images Online. Appearing over on the makethephoto website and written by Adam Geitgey, the article covers copyright, registering your copyright, techniques to prevent copying your images (good luck with that), Creative Commons copyrights, and what to do if your image is stolen or infringed. I’ve seen a lot of articles on these topics – but this one is nice – it’s short, to the point, and yet fairly comprehensive. Nice job Adam.

Have a great Friday folks and enjoy your weekend. Oh – and for crying out loud – get out and photograph something – would ya?
