PCC Bounty

The Last Waltz

A couple of interesting things coming up at the Peoria Camera Club… to whit:

  • First of all, let me talk up the big seminar in March with legendary photographer and educator George Lepp. The seminar, at ICC, runs on Saturday, March 20 from 9am to 4pm. All the details are over at the PCC website. These once-a-year deals are great and bring some of the biggest names in photography from around the world right here to Central Illinois.
  • Tim Sheets, who blogged in this space last June about the love of wide-angle lenses, is doing a presentation on high-pass filter sharpening next Tuesday, January 26th at the club’s monthly Digital Meeting. Tim’s a pretty decent shooter and I’ve been known to high-pass filter just enough to be dangerous.
  • On Tuesday, February 2, Ray Keithley will be presenting “Lessons From The Great Depression Photographers”. One of the best ways to learn what good photography is about is to view other great photographers work. Ray’s program will provide that opportunity. I’ll just take a moment to mention Dorothea Lange at this point…
  • And on Tuesday, February 16, Vicki Padesky and Rich Seeman will be presenting “Lens Attachments.” In this program they will discuss and demonstrate a variety of lens attachments such as filters, tele-extenders, close-up tools and lens protection products. I just now have gone and realized I’ve never talked about all of those things here – save filter. Adding those things to the list.

All of the club’s regular/digital meetings are at 7:30pm in the Parish Hall in Immanuel Lutheran Church on the corner of Knoxville and Glen Avenues, 4911 N. Knoxville Avenue, Peoria IL.
