Don’t forget – Camera Club kicks off tonight

Saint Mary Lake 1The Peoria Camera Club officially kicks off their 2009-10 session with their first meeting of the new season TONIGHT at 7:30pm at the new location: Immanuel Lutheran Church Hall (corner of Knoxville and Glen Ave – park at the back of the church). The opening speaker is Hank Erdman, one of the Midwest’s best known nature photographers. His topic is “The Art of Seeing” – something we all need to get a grip on to get better images.

  1. Thanks for the reminder about the camera club meeting. I am proud to say that I am a new member.

The topic last night was a nice reminder. Hank was right that there are so many books and blogs about camera gear (but lets take a second and admit that we all really like gear – secretly or not. K? Okay.)
However, it is the art that is important. It is easy to foget that we are Artists first. At least that is how I want to think of myself, and the end result being what matters and not how we got there or what we got there with. Amen!

I just hope the next time I am shooting, I can remain calm and let me inner artist take over so that I am not just dumbly pushing buttons. After all, technically good exposures, don’t necessarily make good images.
