Search Engine Goo – Under the Covers with Optimization

The Tree 54Can someone explain why it keeps snowing in Central Illinois in April? I mean really – I should know better – but enough already.

The Central Illinois Adobe User’s Group – run by Mark DuBois from ICC – has lined up a pretty useful presentation a week from this Thursday. If you’ve got a website for showing off your images, chances are good that in some fashion you’ve messed with SEO – Search Engine Optimization – to try and boost your website in the rankings of various search engines.

Mark reports that Jonathan Worent from Peoria’s Direct Logic will be giving the whatfor on SEO. In particular:

  • What is SEO
  • How do Search Engines Operate
  • How to Conduct Keyword Research
  • Critical Components of Optimizing a Site
  • Building a Traffic-Worthy Site
  • Growing a Sites Popularity
  • Conclusion: Crafting an SEO Strategy

The CIAUG meeting is Thursday, April 16 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm in the ICC Technology Center – Room 113. The CIAUG post is here if you want to stay up-to-date. Mark says to “park in the visitor parking lot. The Technology Center is adjacent. Once you enter the Technology Center, take the stairs or elevator to the lower level (1st floor). Proceed along the glass lined area to TC 113.”
