Platon rocks the house again

Glen Oak PergolaAnother fitting Friday wrap.

For those of you following the elections here in these United States of America, you are probably aware of former Secretary of State Colin Powell’s endorsement of Democratic candidate Barack Obama last weekend. One of the things Powell cited in his thinking was the impact of a photograph he had seen. The image showed a mother posing over the gravestone of her son – who was killed in Iraq. The ironic part of the photo was the gravestone marker showed the Muslim Crescent and Star. The soldier was American – but he was also Muslim. The image was part of an essay done by the wonderful portrait shooter Platon. The slide show – viewable here – is a moving and patriotic body of work – and will most likely rock your socks off. Ya know – if you’re human. Cats reading this blog are excused.
