If it’s the fall, then it must be time for the Forest Park Nature Center’s Annual Photo Contest. I’m posting this just under the wire but I’m slow to pick up on these things. The West Peoria Community Word has a post about the contest here – but you need to hurry. Really hurry.
The ol’ hat tip to Tim Sheets for pointing this out to me.

The deadline for submissions is long gone. Tomorrow (Friday 10/24 6:30pm – 8:30pm) is the showing / open house / judging. So, there’s no need to hurry until about 6:15pm tomorrow!

That would be my bad – thanks for straightening that out.

It was a pretty good show with over 400 entries. Tom Ruhland took several ribbons including best of show for an amazing insect photo. We also saw Lynn there who had a few entries. Hers were disqualified from ribbons due to the size (they were larger than 8×10).
The judges did like them, and even commented on the metallic paper used (from mpix).
